They are seated close together, with the bride looking slightly upward and the groom looking at her. The room features lace curtains, wall art, and floral arrangements.

Sessions, Elopements, and Vow Renewals that feel like YOUR story, not a Photoshoot

Many of the couples I photograph are visiting Japan for the first time. Most have never done a photoshoot before — gentle guidance is given throughout the session to help everything feel natural and relaxed.

Capture Your Tokyo Story

From ¥85,000

My Tokyo Prelude offering is a session designed for those who simply want to experience the city together — wandering side streets, catching the light between buildings, finding quiet corners away from the rush.

With the same attention to light, atmosphere, and unfolding experience, these sessions focus on connection rather than choreography. It’s simply the two of you, moving through Tokyo, while I document what naturally reveals itself.

Considering an Elopement in Japan?

Photography From ¥150,000

Japan is the perfect destination for most eloping couples. From nature to culture, city to countryside, it offers something for the adventurous and the quietly curious alike.

I work alongside my wife through our sister service, Elope in Japan, combining photography with specialist elopement planning and coordination.

What about a Vow Renewal in Japan?

Ceremony Plans & Photography from ¥200,000

Japan is a quietly powerful setting for marking what you’ve already built together. Whether it’s a milestone anniversary or a chance to pause and reflect, the spaces here invite intention without spectacle.

Vow renewals are arranged through our sister service, Elope in Japan, with my wife handling the planning and ceremony arrangements while I provide the photography.

Ross is an impeccable photographer and has provided us with the most beautiful way of reliving that magical day.

- Alex & Alexander, Denmark

We did two set of photos, with Ross … a Kimono Shoot in a Garden, and a western wedding attire shoot in the city at night. Both turned out amazing, and Ross really helped bring out our personalities in the photos.

Amazing finished product with the photos, couldn’t recommend them enough.

- Merren & Christopher, Australia

We had chosen Ross to be our photographer and we couldn't be happier. His work was exquisite.

- Dianne & Peter, Australia

As my husband and myself both enjoy photography, we were really inspired by Ross …and we had the time of our life!

We were married in Japan during cherry blossom season and had Ross as our photographer — we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was incredibly professional, relaxed, and just so fun to be around... We’re so grateful for his support and would recommend him without hesitation.

Ross Harrison

From Tokyo to Kyoto and beyond.

Hi there! I am a London-born musician turned photographer. Now based in Tokyo, I photograph couples, elopements and portraits across this beautiful and fascinating country. If you want a photo-shoot, low-key elopement or vow renewal, I would love to help you capture the special moments that will undoubtedly unfold on your special day.

With a style informed by light, coloured by the unfolding experience and edited with a sense of nostalgia, I aim to create timeless images that will take you right back to the moment the shutter was clicked.
